VIVI DOWN. REPORT VIVI DOWN.
Anyway, I think a few of you were here last night when I popped into the cbox cursing a little and just really in an awful mood. If you didn't catch me, well, that's what this absence thread is about. To keep this short and sweet, my computer broke last night. I went to the ITS/ITT computer fixing program on campus, and they said that my monitor is broken. It works on an external monitor (so I could, say, hook my computer up to a television and see what I'm doing), but the screen is completely black, even when I try to fix the brightness features on it. We spent about an hour looking at it, and it's just...well, broke. My mom (bless her heart) is sweet enough to come up tonight to send the laptop out.
As expected, I won't be on very much because I don't have a laptop. If you see me online, it is because I am on my phone, or a rented library laptop. This means that the posts will be coming slow for the next week or two (one week only, if I'm lucky) because I simply don't have a laptop. On top of that, I'm having to write papers and regain some of the documents during the week, which kind of throws a bunch of new stress when I have 2 upper level science exams, 1 physics exam, and a paper due within the next 2-3 weeks.
WHILE THIS IS HAPPENING, I WILL MISS YOU ALL. You'll still see me pop in the cbox every now and then, but that's only because I'm on my phone, and I must be on a break.
IL ALL. MY COMPUTER ;_______;

The bed was comfortable, beckoning James to fall asleep on it. A foul temptress; it was really unfair how comfortable it looked at midnight. Not to mention the bed spoke sweet words to him, telling him that it was okay to fall asleep there. It was fine. Others had done worse than fall asleep with someone they were courting. Some people did more; James was just exhausted, though, and he only wanted to deliver a sleeping Lily back to her bed. Their night had been fun, as it always was, and the two of them had stayed close together afterwards, bumping shoulders with one another as each of them drank hot coffee and reminisced about their past in Tennessee.
It had been a good night, and James was glad that the coffee was readily available. The two of them had arrived back hours ago, but they had been sitting, earlier, cozy underneath a large blanket as they swapped stories. Lily’s head had found its home in the crook of James’ neck. Likewise, the pilot’s hand had found the appropriate position on her shoulder, rubbing it encouragingly to keep her talking about her past and to keep himself from falling asleep. With the coffee, it had been a fool-proof plan. His date with Lily had made him forget, temporarily, about everything, if only for a moment. Thoughts of war and hunger pains drifted from his head. Imagery of plains of grain and stalks of corn quickly replaced them. It was a return to normalcy; it was a return to thoughts about America and the people he had left behind there, and it made him smile softly, knowing that he could share some simple memories with Lily and reach a calm understanding with her.
One day, when the war was over, things would be calm like this. And far more importantly, things would be calm like this for Britain, and for his friends. Simon, Nicholi, Kai, Wesley, and Cadell; things would return to normal for them, at least James could hope things would return normal for them once the Germans were driven out.
But for now, things were quiet. James was calmer than he had been in a while, since he could remember anyway. Although he knew better, his eyes drooped shut, and his head tapped against Lily’s, a sign that he had fallen asleep with his girlfriend in her bed, despite his best intentions. His mother was going to kill him, that was the last thought he had, before he had let himself succumb to exhaustion. And when he woke up, too, in the middle of the night, that was the first thought he had as well. “Oh God...” He whispered the words, quietly, and pushed himself up slowly to avoid shifting the bed. His mother would have killed him on the spot, and Samantha would have wrung his neck. Lily looked happy, though. He stole a glance at her, looking down at her face as he pushed her hair away from her eyes. There was a face he had seen stricken with fear and worry. But now, she looked calm, so James took that as a sign that it was about time he rolled out of her bed and head for her couch instead.
She screamed in the middle of the night, and it made James jump in confusion, wondering what horrid dream he had just been introduced to again. A figment of his imagination, a bad nightmare? No, Lily was screaming; at the very least, she was shrieking, and James could hear the quickening of her breath from where he was. “Lily?” He was confused, and a cough soon overtook him, forcing him to put a hand over his mouth to try to remain quiet. He should have gotten more sleep before coming on this date, but if he had planned that, he wouldn’t be here, would he? “Lily. Hey Lily? The door’s open. It just – I’m just – I’m just going to shut-up and enter.” He finished off with a mumble, quickly opening her door as he stumbled into her small room. “Lily? Lily?” He crawled back into her bed, confused, as he tentatively touched her shoulder and gave a cursory look at her surroundings. Nothing was wrong – no one was here (the door had been locked, and James knew there wasn’t a window overlooking her bed), so what was wrong?

IN CASE YOU MISSED HER POPPING IN THE CBOX, NARY HAS BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH HER ROUTER. She wishes us all of the best, though. (Especially that vivi character, she said she missed the hell out of her). Anyway, just popping this up to show our dear Nary hasn’t forgotten any of us. It’s just the problem with her router and shit like that. She misses us all and wishes us all the best. Let’s cross our fingers that the router problem will be all right!

IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN.
Except not really. Actually, vivi is horridly behind in everything. Hasn't called the financial aid office, hasn't bought her books yet, hasn't packed for college, and hasn't even packed for her vacation. BUT THAT'S OKAY. Because I'm going to do all of that tomorrow apparently.
ANYWAY. Vacation. My mother and I are driving down to Savannah, George to have a bit of fun for the week. We don't get to go on vacations often, so I'm pretty damn excited about this, despite the seven hour or drive or whatever. We're going to go have fun at the islands, and we're going to go have awesome seafood dinner. Because you know what state doesn't have good seafood? Tennessee. Land locked states, bro.
I won't be bringing my laptop since we're staying at a hotel, and we'll be out and about most of the time. Fortunately, I'll have my IPhone, so you can bet I'll be popping into the cbox all throughout the week. I could even ICC with it, but it's a matter of what we're doing on what day. JUST REST ASSURED, VIVI WILL STILL POP IN FROM TIME TO TIME. SHE HAS NOT FORGOTTEN HER LOVELY WCS CREW ;_;. Oh, because I have my phone, I won't be writing my posts. I just don't like writing posts on my phone; it hurts my eyes, and it's no fun.
THIS AFFECTS JAMES HENDERSHOES, PETER WILHELM, MARY EBERHARDT, AND DAVID GRAEME.
